Leaves can be set to accrue monthly, quarterly, or annually. For mid-year joiners, the pro-rata engine calculates their balance entitlement based on their joining date and the remaining days in the cycle, ensuring accurate balances automatically.

Q: Can we set carry-forward limits and carry out leave encashments?

Yes. You can define year-end carry-forward caps (e.g. max 10 days EL carried over), set automated balances to lapse, and configure encashment rules. Approved encashments are automatically added to payroll runs as taxable income.

Q: How does multi-level approval routing work?

You can create linear approval chains (e.g., L1 Manager -> HR Admin) or custom conditional paths based on leave type or duration. If a manager is on leave, delegate rules automatically forward the request to a designated backup manager.

Q: What is the sandwich rule policy and how is it automated?

The sandwich rule counts holidays or weekends as leaves if an employee takes leave on both surrounding workdays. Inkludo allows you to turn this policy on/off for specific leave types, calculate weekend counts dynamically, and warn employees before submission.

Q: How are regional office holiday calendars managed?

You can create multiple location-specific calendars (e.g. State-specific holidays) and assign them to employees based on their office branch. Employees are allotted regional holidays automatically, including optional/floating festival quotas.

Q: Does unpaid leave automatically deduct salary?
